Sunday, October 14th, was my “Golden Hour” photoshoot with photographer Erin Almy. This photoshoot actually took me a couple of weeks to come up with the idea. I bounced back and forth over and over what I wanted to do. I wanted it to be different and creative but I also wanted to still have that “natural” feel. I had reached out to Rachel Duncan of Color Me Gorgeous asking if she knew of any small photographers that she thought would be interested in collabing with me for a shoot. She contacted me with Erin who quincedently was one of Rachel’s brides the first time I assisted her.
Ultimately, together we decided on a “Golden Hour” shoot in an apple orchard. The orchard was Golden Harvest Farms on Route 9 in Valatie. The scenery there was just perfect and the farm was so generous and accommodating to us. I’m honestly so glad I got to work with Erin. She is the sweetest person and she just brought what I had of a vision to life. In all reality, my brain automatically goes to hair and makeup so I didn’t give her many guidelines on where to go with it. I trusted that when it came to the actual photos she knew way better than I did. When I look back at the photos they’re just stunning in my opinion. Also, did I mention the model was Erin’s sister? She was also so sweet and funny and was the perfect model.
The reason I wanted to do this shoot was because I felt like my website, Instagram and Facebook needed some more professional photos. I’m trying to do all that I can to help my business grow but I also specifically wanted a smaller photographer to help them grow as well. Erin is amazing and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.
With that being said, enjoy the gorgeous pictures from the shoot and be on the lookout for them all over my social media.
