Take Your Makeup to The Next Level for Fall

With a new season approaching comes change. Change of weather, change of clothing and change of hair color. Those level 10 blondies are going back to the dark side and becoming warm toned brunettes. With that being said, there's no reason why you can’t spice up your makeup routine for fall.

So, in today’s blog post I want to focus on playing with color and taking your makeup to the next level all while still being practical.

My favorite way to play with color and make your eyes pop is to use colorful eyeliner in the lower waterline. Especially during fall, using colors like cranberry/maroon, dark purple and browns can be stunning and a great way to play with a pop of color without it being too much. I love the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils and some of my favorite colors from them are Alkaline, Rockstar, Roach and Bourbon. Shades that I haven’t tried but I think would be beautiful as well are; Torch, Corrupt, Empire, Hustle, Whiskey and Stash.

It’s time to swap out your summer bronze for a more natural contour and a warm toned blush. Now, I’m not here to tell you what color blush you should be wearing depending on the time of year; but, I do know that playing with warm toned blushes can be a stunning way to bring some subtle color to your face.

By warm toned blush I am referring to peaches or deep peaches, darker pinks and merlot wines. Two of my favorite blushes that would be great to spruce up your makeup are the bareMinerals Gen Nude Blushes in Strike A Rose and You Had Me At Merlot.

Friends, let me tell you. You can absolutely play with color when it comes to your lipstick without looking crazy and wearing dark colors like red and purple. There are plenty of subtle deeper shades that are absolutely stunning and not as shell shocking. I know that when I wear super exotic lip shades, I take them off immediately because I don’t feel like myself.

Examples of these flattering colors are; brick/browny reds that don’t come off as a true red, deeper brown/nudes and deep mauves. Some of my all time favorite examples of these shades are; Kylie Cosmetics Creme Lipstick in Madeline, Milani Amore Satin Matte in Indulge, Loreal Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick in I Lead, Joah Infinite Kiss in Smooch and K.I.S.S., Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice and lastly, bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick in Swank.

Pro Tip: I love taking a liquid lipstick and dabbing a dot or two in the center of my lip then blending it out to get a more subtle wash of the color.

So, who wants to play with makeup?! Even the slightest amount of change in your makeup routine can make all the difference while leaving you feeling fresh and new. Trying new things with my makeup is always something that makes me giddy like a kid.

That being said, I hope you have fun with these tips I gave you to switch it up! I would absolutely love to see the looks you create.
