For a while now, both myself and Lauren have been searching for the best option to retail makeup to clients. I especially have been searching for an amazing brand I could recommend clients to go to when I’m teaching classes, doing makeup applications etc.
After looking into private labels and searching brands high and low I stumbled across Beautycounter. Though I had heard of it before, I didn’t know anything about it. When I started looking at their products I was immediately impressed with how they looked and how client-friendly they felt.
Being that I was looking for the best fit for my clients, it was most important to me that the products I sold to them were suitable for their everyday needs. These products had to meet standards, but not as big of standards as my needs. Afterall, my everyday face of makeup is very different than the average womens everyday face of makeup.
The first thing I tested out with this company was their ‘Flawless in Five’ bundle. In the bundle, you get the choice of either their Skin Tint Hydrating Foundation or their Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer, the Touchup Skin Concealer Pen, a choice of the Color Define Brow Pencil or the Brilliant Brow Gel, a choice of the Lengthening or Volumizing Mascara, the Satin Powder Blush and a Lip Gloss of your choice.
I was immediately impressed with how natural and hydrating the Skin Tint foundation was. I was also impressed with the natural looking coverage I received from the concealer, the color payoff I got from the blush and how the brow pencil filled in my brows but almost kept me from over-filling them in.
After trying the Flawless in Five, I decided to try their Color Intense Lipstick, Sheer Lipstick, Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer, Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in Classic, Radiant All over Bronzer and the Illuminating Cream Highlighter. Once again, Beautycounter did not disappoint.
The Color Intense and Sheer Lipsticks are perfect for the everyday woman looking for a nice wash of color. If you know me, you especially know my love for a good sheer lipstick/tinted balm. The Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer is quite sheer but oh, so flattering. Hydrated, luminous dewy skin is all I can say to describe that. I will also add it comes with SPF 20. I honestly think it’s perfect for a day where you really don’t want much on, a day at the beach, on the water etc. The eyeshadow palette and bronzer, like the blush, did not disappoint in the color payoff section. Lastly, the Illuminating Cream Highlighter it’s subtle but absolutely stunning. It gives a subtle sheen and radiant glow to the skin. Perfect for everyday wear.
As I’m writing this, I have their whole range of makeup products in the mail so I can try out everything they have to offer. I mean it when I say once you get one thing, it’s so exciting to try out more. I think I’m most excited to try the cream blush and the matte powder next.
Beautycounter also has an extensive line of skin care that I have not tried yet but am looking forward to trying. Besides one product, the Charcoal Mask that I do have to say I love. They have 6 different skin care collections; Countercontrol, Countertime, Countermatch, Counter+ and Counterman each catered to your specific needs.
They also have a range of bath and body products, a baby line and a sun protection line.
So besides the products, I also loved the company's mission; to get safer products in the hands of everyone. Beautycounter is actively fighting in Washington DC for better laws and regulations for beauty products. Their company, like many, has a ‘Never List’ of over 1,800 ingredients that are never used in their products. They are EGW Verified and are a Certified B Corporation. Meaning, they don’t take the words “clean beauty” lightly. They pride themselves in not only using safer ingredients, but disclosing full ingredient transparency.
So, as you can see, I am so excited to have such an opportunity to share great products with all of you. It truly feels like a best fit scenario.
