With the holiday season approaching comes the thought of buying gifts for Christmas, Hanukkah etc. Any gifts I ever give almost always fall into the beauty category. In my personal opinion, those are the best kind of gifts! Anyways, I come from a household where a ton of thought really goes into gift giving. But, it’s not always the easiest thing thinking of the perfect gift for someone.
Long story short, I have compiled my top beauty items that would be the perfect gift for any female in your life.
Hot Tools and Blow Dryers
Does the person you’re thinking of straighten or curl their hair often? How often do they use the blow dryer? Pay attention to their hot tools and how old they are. Are they in need of an upgrade? Then BINGO you’ve got the perfect gift.
When it comes to choosing a hot tool, the market is super over-saturated with tools to choose from. Therefore, it can be extremely overwhelming to choose. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve used as a professional and also think are great for everyday use.
I personally use the Kristin Ess 1’ Curling Iron on a daily basis and love the curl it gives me. The only downfall is my hair holds a curl better with ceramic rather than titanium so my hair doesn’t keep the curl as long as I would like. If you’re confused on the difference in ceramic vs. titanium I have a whole blog post on it that you should totally go check out.
I have the BaByliss Straightener in my kit because it’s both a straightener and a curling iron in one. The barrel heats up all the way around making it easier for you to create straightener curls. Also, you can lock the straightener shut and use it as a wand.
The CHI straighteners are a classic and really get the job done. I definitely have quite a few floating around that I have loved. Plus, they come in adorable patterns!
Ok, so my Conair I have had since way back in my early high school days. It has definitely been used and abused and still works like a charm! My hair holds a curl like no ones business and it gives me the perfect in-between of a traditional curl and a wave. Still one of my favorite wands to-date.
Now let’s talk blow dryers. My all time favorite is the DryBar Buttercup Blow Dryer. I have one for in-salon use and one for personal use. It’s lightweight, easy and gets the job done. I would recommend it to anyone.
Another great mini blow dryer is the Eva NYC Mini Pro Blow Dryer. I use it in my kit because it's compact but powerful. It's the perfect gift for someone who travels often.
Makeup Gift Sets
Buying makeup for someone can be extremely hard if you don’t know what you’re doing. But, a fool proof way of doing it is to get a gift set that comes with a bunch of different little items in them! Now, when I say little gift sets I’m thinking of the ones you can get at Sephora or Ulta.
After looking through what both Sephora and Ulta have to offer, I’ve compiled what I think would be the best gifts for anyone.
Hair Care Gift Sets
Along with makeup, hair care gift sets can be the perfect gift for someone. Whether it’s an all in one deal with tools and products or a set of shampoo and conditioner you can’t go wrong. At the salon, we have a range of Neuma Holiday Shampoo and Conditioner sets that come with an amazing luxurious lotion! Stop by Haven Salon to purchase one.
I also scoped out Sephora to find the best holiday kits for hair that I would recommend.
Gift certificates...to the salon that is! I hear clients all the time say how relaxing and refreshing it is coming to the salon. Leaving the salon you feel like a whole new person. Fresh color, fresh cut, freshly washed, everything that makes you feel 10 times better. So, a gift certificate to their favorite salon and stylist is a great gift for the holidays.
With that in mind, I offer gift certificates for in-salon at Haven! What woman wouldn’t want a certificate to come visit me and get a blowout, makeup application or updo/style?!
Another fun idea is getting a gift certificate to the nail salon and a day spa! Both are fun ways to relax and pamper yourself but can also be costly.
Ok, so that was a lot of products. I tried to stick to brands and products I absolutely loved and thought could be pretty versatile. I mean, who couldn’t use a new hot tool or a fun mini lip gloss set?! Bottom line is these are super fun gift ideas for the women in your life and are also super thoughtful too! They require you to really think about what the person wears/doesn’t wear and what they like and dislike. Plus, the gift certificate idea is a major win win too for something that special person likes doing with some thought put into it.
I hope this guide sparked some ideas for you this holiday season! I know I already have not one but two Sephora orders on the way.
With that I wish you merry shopping!
